Jing Screencast app

One of the coolest programs that I have run into for a while. Jing. What it does it you can capture a screen image, or capture video and audio (including microphone) of your desktop and send a url. You can use it to show users what you want them to do rather than trying to explain it on the phone or through e-mail. I recently used it and it saved me like 20 minutes of explaining. It was great. If you ever need to explain anything to anyone about computers then you will love this program. Check it out

The Fratellis

I don't know anything about these guys but I saw them on MTV Hits today and I thought that is was rather entertaining. They have more songs available on their myspace site.

Spiffy Rapid Achitecture Design with Second Life

Thought that this was cool. I am a dabbler in Second Life. I haven't really gotten anywhere with building stuff but this guy, Lordfly Digeridoo built a whole development for Ypsilanti, Michigan. It is always fascinating to watch SL builds. The music really sets that pace too. Apparently he built the whole complex in 4 days. Pretty impressive.

Why

Why have I decided to try another blog. I don't know I wasn't very successful with the other one. Sometimes I just don't want to talk about tech stuff. I like to think that there are things outside that are more interesting sometime. I want to try it out and see if it is worth while. I have been incredibly interested in city design lately. I've been reading "The Death and Life of Great American Cities" by Jane Jacobs. It has been very eye opening. I really want to apply some of these ideas that I have read about. Unfortunately I have always been more of a thinker than an doer. We'll see. Unfortunately there are only so many hours in the day.
